Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
State basic principles of linear and quadratic magneto-optical effects and describe them using the magneto-optical tensor. Show modelling of magneto-optical effects of thin films in reflection and transmission. Students will get acquainted with the setups of differential intensity magneto-optical magnetometry, magneto-optical Kerr microscopy and spectral magnetooptics. Applications of these effects will be shown in details.
