Summary

This subject deals with the structure of solid states. The student will know the basic physical methods and conceptions in solid-state physics as the supplement of his knowledge in technical subjects from material engineering study at the university, especially from the range of metallic materials. The requirements suppose individual study corresponding with ability of the postgraduate students.

Compulsory literature:

1. Borg, R.J. - Dienes, G.J.: The Physical Chemistry of Solids, Academic Press, San Diego 1992. ISBN 0-12-118420-X 2. Haasen, P.: Physical Metallurgy, Cambridge University Press, 3rd edition, Cambridge 1996. ISBN 0 521 55092 0
