Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Discuss fundamentals of preparation methods, measuring of thin-film parameters, properties of thin films and surfaces, and its applications. Conclude thin-film optics, optical measurement, applications in optics, magnetism and magnetic properties of thin films, applications in magnetic memories and sensors, and electrical properties of thin films. Compare technology of preparing of thin films by various methods.

Summary

The course includes fundamentals of preparation methods, measuring of thin- film parameters, properties of thin films and surfaces, and its applications. The course is focused on thin-film optics, optical measurement, applications in optics, magnetism and magnetic properties of thin films, applications in magnetic memories and sensors, and electrical properties of thin films. Nanometer-thick thin films and nanostructures prepared by lithographic methods and patterning are included.
