Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to master the essential features of construction and development of the Earth, an understanding of the geological cycle and principles of the functioning of endogenous and exogenous geological processes.

Summary

The course is devoted to the basics of general geology based on the cycle of geological processes and knowledge of endogenous and exogenous dynamic of the Earththat shape the Earth's crust and participate in changes in the Earth's surface.

Subject syllabus:

1. Geologie, její disciplíny, pomocné vědy a pracovní metody. Cyklus geologických procesů. Vnitřní a vnější geologičtí činitelé, jejich význam pro vývoj zemského tělesa. Exogenní a endogenní dynamika. 2. Zemské těleso hypotéza vzniku Země a geotektonické hypotézy. Geofyzikální důkazy o stavbě a složení zemského tělesa. Tvar a pohyby Země. Zemská kůra kontinentální a oceánská, její vznik a vývoj. Základy teorie izostáze. Tlak v zemském tělese. Přirozené napěťové pole, redistribuce napětí. Tepelné pole Země. 3. Teorie litosférických desek. 4. Nauka o vrstvě a souvrství - Vrstva a její části, mocnost vrstev, plošná stálost hloubka uložení, mapové zobrazení. Vnitřní a vnější znaky sedimentů zvrstvení, jevy na vrstevních plochách. Význam znaků vrstev pro určení stratigrafického nadloží a podloží, pro určení typu sedimentace a sedim. prostředí. 5. Soubory vrstev. Zákonitost ve vrstevním sledu, cykličnost, rytmičnost, význam pro stratigrafii a pro technickou praxi. Vzájemný poměr souborů vrstev - konkordance, diskordance a její druhy, projevy v mapě. Facie, faciální poměr souborů vrstev a druhy faciálních přechodů, litofaciální výzkum. 6. Úvod do stratigrafie. Čas v geologii, základní stratigrafické zákony. Relativní a absolutní stratigrafie. Místní a chronostratigrafické jednotky a stupnice. Stratigrafická korelace. 7. Sekundární struktury. Spojité struktury - flexury, vrásy, jejich tvary, klasifikace vrás. 8. Zlomy a jejich geometrická - kinematická klasifikace. Systémy zlomů. Příkrovová stavba. Tektonické pukliny spjaté s vrásami a zlomy. Kliváž. 9. Magmatismus: magma a jeho vlastnosti. Typy intruzivních a hypoabysálních těles, jejich klasifikace. 10. Vulkanismus, láva a její vlastnosti, tělesa vulkanitů, vulkanická pohoří. Typy sopek. Pyroklastika. Doprovodné sopečné jevy. 11. Metamorfóza - druhy metamorfózy. Metamorfní facie. Struktury metamorfních hornin. 12. Zemětřesení - příčiny, geneze, klasifikace. 13. Exogenní dynamika. Zvětrávání mechanické a chemické. Zvětralinový plášť. Půda, složení, vlastnosti, typy. Působení tíže na povrchu země, svahové pohyby. 14. Geologická činnost vody. Geologická činnost vodních toků a jezer. Geologická činnost moře. Podzemní voda. Krasové jevy. Geologická činnost ledovců. Geologické působení větru.
