Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The goal of this subject is practical knowledge of minerals and rocks observed during field excursion in deposits and natural occurence of minerals, rocks and raw materials.

Teaching methods

Terrain work

Summary

Field trip takes the form of site visits as scheduled, at which the student is familiar with the geology of the area briefly and then with specific mineralogical or petrographical peculiarities. At the sites, students performs sampling of rocks and minerals according to the instructions leading field trips, findings recorded in the field diary. Sites have the character of quarries (active and abandoned), down, off-road outcrops. Students are required to ensure safety instructions leading tours of active operations or employees.
