Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Goal of the subject is to provide knowledge to the university students, so he/she will be able to understand given points at issue good enough to apply them in practical work. Student also obtains ability to partially analyse, categorize and classify major requirements of the mineral deposit and reserve estimation for geological works.

Summary

Student obtaines the informations about the importance of the mineral raw materials for the economy of the state. The definition of the terms "mineral” , "mineral deposit" and “mineral raw material", "mineral reserves and resources" will explained. The lectures also include mineralogical and petrographical composition of the mineral deposits, geological conditions of the mineral deposits origin, morphology of the mineral deposits and review main industry types of the mineral deposits. Signification of the classification of the mineral reserves and resources and methods of the mineral deposits estimation, are explained. Relations between estimation of the mineral deposits reserves and mine construction are explained. Explained are also problems of the mineral statistics and mineral balance.

1. Significance of the mineral economic and role raw materials for humanity 2. Classifications of the mineral deposits and their significance 3. Metalic ores deposits and their characterization 4. Industrial minerals deposits and their characterization 5. Energy mineral deposits and their characterization 6. Purpose and utilization of the reserves estimation. Fundamentals terms of the mineral deposits reserves and resources 7. Principles of the mineral deposits reserves and resources classification, national and international classifications and problems of their relations 8. Geological and mineable reserves, their significance, relations (geological, technical and economical models of the mineral deposits) 9. Conditions for the mineral deposits reseves assesment, importance and main guestions of theïr creation 10. Fundamentals mineral deposits parameters, problems of their identification 11. Quality of the mineral deposit reserves and resources 12. Main parts of the mineral deposits reserves estimation 13. Traditional and modern methods for reserves estimation 14. Connection of the Reserves Estimation and mining companies
