Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Pedagogic aim of this subject is ability of students:
- describe genesis of the universe, the solar system and the Earth;
- describe the Earth’s body and explain the plat tectonic theory;
- comprehend and define basic endogenous and exogenous processes;
- identify mutual interaction between them;
- classify and define various natural disasters;
- understand principle of particular methods of survey the Earth.

Summary
The subject gives the main information about processes, which are going in the Earth an affect our way to their understanding and utilization for man needs. The subject explain main opinions on the origin and development of the universe, the solar system and the Earth, on the Earth body structure and the composition, on the Earth physical fields. Shortly acquaint students with standard type rocks and their genesis. Describe primary and secondary structures. Deal with description hydrosphere and atmosphere. The subject characterizes the man position respect to extraordinary natural phenomena and catastrophes, informs of main methods of graphic description the Earth's surface and subsurface.

3. Základní charakteristika sluneční soustavy.
4. Stavba a složení zemského tělesa.
5. Charakteristika geosfér.
6. Fyzikální pole Země.
7. Zemské zdroje.
8. Úloha průzkumné geologie.
9. Těžba nerostných surovin a s ní spojené problémy životního prostředí.
10. Úprava nerostných surovin.
11. GPS, dálkový průzkum Země a GIS.
12. Odpady, ekologické ukládání odpadů.
13. Voda jako limitující faktor rozvoje společnosti.
14. Mimořádné přírodní jevy a katastrovy - zemětřesení, sesurvy.
15. Mimořádné přírodní jevy a katastrofy - vulkanická činnost a atmosférické
