Knowledge and explanation how to recognise the common lithologies, textures and sedimentary structures, and how to record and measure these features.

Summary

The course is devoted to the basics of environmental sedimentology. Students will learn the basic principles of classification of sediments. A substantial part is devoted to an overview of individual sedimentation environments and genetic types of sediments. It includes the stratigraphic significance of sediments.

1. Úvod do předmětu. Sedimenty a základy jejich klasifikace. 2. Vrstvy a sedimentární textury. 3. Sedimenty a sedimentační prostředí. Aluviální sedimentace. 4. Jezerní a deltová sedimentace. 5. Eolická a glacigenní sedimentace. 6. Mělkomořská sedimentace I. 7. Mělkomořská a sedimentace II. 8. Hlubokomořská sedimentace I. 9. Hlubokomořská sedimentace II. 10. Reziduální sedimenty a zvětralinové pláště. 11. Sedimenty a klima. 12. Regionální a globální stratigrafické cykly. 13. Základy sekvenční stratigrafie. 14. Zvláštnosti čtvrtohorní sedimentace.
