Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The goal of the course is to obtain knowledge about genesis and characteristics of construction materials. To understand connection between their genesis, quality and use. To check and put into praxis obtained theoretical knowledge – excursion into quarry.

Geologie, její disciplíny, úlohy geologie ve stavebnictví a ostatní praxi.
Země z hlediska současných poznatků (stavba Země, desková tektonika). Základní
složky zemské kůry – horniny a minerály. Vlastnosti skalních hornin a zemin.
Horniny ve stavební praxi. Geologické struktury. Magmatismus. Působení
exogenních procesů na Zemi. Typy a tvary reliéfu, jejich využití v praxi.
Základy hydrogeologie. Základy regionální geologie ČR. Ložiska karbonátů a
jejich využití. Ložiska sádrovce a jeho využití. Perlit a petrurgické suroviny
a jejich využití. Ložiska štěrkopísků a písků a jejich využití. Ložiska
drceného kameniva a jejich využití. Ložiska dekoračních kamenů a jejich
využití. Ložiska cihlářských surovin a jejich využití. Ložiska kaolínu a
jejich využití.
