Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The main goal of the subject is to give to students a general overview about the museum science, to clarify basic problems connected with the museum science which represents important step on the way to understanding of our history. The students are led to that to learn list and outline the main terminuses of museum science development as a science discipline, to describe and explain the general principles and function of museums in our country and also in the world. On the basic of an analysis they will learn to categorize the museums according to their scope, to relate and judge their quality according to degree of their presentation level and to classify them according to their significance for our society. The students will be able to order the museums according to the type of their scope and to point out the importance of those, which present a development of technical sciences in our country and in the whole world too. They will be able, during their visits in the region, within the frame of the excursions, to demonstrate their theoretical knowledge within the frame of tutorials (maquettes, schemata) and, by use of museum expositions, to explain their functionality (in case of technical equipment). Last, but not least, they will be led to that, to achieve, on the basis of an analysis, to perceive a historical and utility value of the museum exhibits and their importance for mapping of human society evolution.
