Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The utilization of knowledge and application of natural relations from geochemical behaviour of elements in Earth crust in to the areas influenced by antropgenic activity. Understanding of the principles of risk elements during thermic processes by the waste processing. Identification areas of contamination in surroundings of landfills and old ecological loads with utilization of geochemical models (SURFER).

Summary

Geoecology represents an interdisciplinary scientific discipline that deals with understanding the relationships between man and the environment. It is based on a knowledge of the characteristics of the natural geo-ecosystem that are affected and reshaped by human activity. Geoecology is oriented towards issues: geochemical background, remediation of old ecological burdens, substance balance of important elements and methods of sustained sustainable development. Methods of chemical analysis, geostatistics and modelling are the most frequently used.

Subject syllabus:

1.Kontaminanty v životním prostředí (určení geochemického pozadí, příčiny a důsledky migrace). 2.Těžké kovy ve složkách životního prostředí (význam, ekotoxicitě) 3.Organické polutanty (základní vlastnosti, koeficienty Kow, Koc, posouzení biologické rozložitelnosti v aerobním nebo anaerobním prostředí) 4.Metody analýzy životního prostředí (přehled základní analytických metod se zaměřením na „mobilní analytické metody“) 5.Metodika odběru vzorků zemin, vody a odpadů (legislativa) 6.Odpady (definice, dělení, legislativa) 7.Technologie využití a zpracování odpadů 8.Odpady z důlní činnosti (AMD, základní technologie dekontaminace) 9.Skládky (zakládání, provoz, monitorování, ukončení činnosti + rekultivace) 10.Staré zátěže (definice, metody hodnocení rozsahu kontaminace a její dynamiky) 11.Technologie dekontaminace zemin (biologické metody a fyzikálně-chemické metody) 12.Technologie dekontaminace zemin – termické metody 13.Podzemní vody – sanační technologie 14.Hodnocení environmentální rizik 15.Látkové bilance a energetické toky (modelování).
