Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the basic concepts of tourism. Another objective of the subject is to get students' orientation in the field of tourism so that when they study in detail the topics in other subjects perceive mutual relations in this area. The course informs about internationally defined concepts and definitions in tourism, deals with market rules and factors operating in the tourism, conditions necessary for the development of the tourism as well as current travel and tourism options in the world and in the Czech Lands, depending on economic and political developments in the given destination.

Description of the main factors influencing the development of tourism. The impact of the recreational environment on humans and the risks associated with them. Market as a tourism area and related terms. Classification and description of individual forms of tourism. Current possibilities of tourism in the world. Capacity of the landscape and influence of the tourism on the landscape. Capacity of the landscape and influence of the tourism on the landscape. Characteristics and classification of services in tourism. Legislation in the field of tourism. Processing offer excursion and preparation tourism. Classification and description of transport services in tourism. Classification and description of accommodation and catering services in tourism. Options and types of insurance in the tourism area.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
Knowledge are checked during the semester by a semester project and presentations in MS PowerPoint. The course is completed by an examination, which may be scheduled having gained the initial credit. The examination is divided into a written and oral part.

Seminar work on the given topic and a written exam verifying the knowledge in the scope of professional literature, content of lectures and exercises.

Subject syllabus:
1. Factors influencing the development of tourism (CR) (economic, social, psychological, cultural, demographic, ecological, political, administrative).
2. Recreational environment and its favorable and unfavorable effects on humans (forests, mountains, bodies of water).
3. Market in the field of CR (prices, market peculiarities, supply, demand and their characteristic features).
4. Need and consumption in the field of CR (division and characteristics of needs, expenditure on CR).
5. Forms of CR (cultural and educational, entertainment and attraction, sports, health and healing, gourmet, congress, incentive, urban, rural, religious, senior, youth, disabled and hunting tourism).
6. Territories suitable and unsuitable for CR (territories excluded from CR due to their protection, territories limiting CR, territories unsuitable for CR), regionalization of territories in CR according to their significance for CR.
7. Capacity of the landscape (physical, ecological, social-psychological), negative and positive influence CR on the landscape.
8. Characteristics of services in CR (structure of services, peculiarities, classification of CR services).
9. Legal relationships in the provision of CR services, classification of travel agencies (TC), types of CK services.
10. Preparation of the tour, price calculation (compilation of the program, route design, price calculation, processing of the offer, preparation of the guide).
11. Transport services in CR (Railway, road, air and ship services, Mass urban and vertical transport in CR).
12. Accommodation and catering services in CR and their categories.
13. Insurance in CR (types of insurance, reporting and settlement of insurance claims).
