Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Goal of the subject is to provide knowledge to the university student, so he/she will be able to understand given points at issue good enough to analyse its content, to realise synthesis of the acquired information and its evaluation. This sciential base allow student to compare results of the synthesis, propose modifications and solve the problems of the deposits of kaustobiolites.

Summary

A theory of the origin of kaustobiolite deposits. Coal formation, oil formation and parameters of coalification and bituminisation. Physical and chemical properties of kaustobiolites, chemical-technological classification of brown and hard coal. The geology of coal deposits and its basic terms (primary and secondary structures, cyclic sedimentation, changes in coal matter, anomalous events in coal basins). The classification of coal basins and the environments of their origin (elements and the mode of deposit traps, types of deposit traps, underground storages). The geology of fossil fuels of the Czech Republic. The geology of world deposits of fossil fuels. Reserves of fossil fuels and prognoses of their development.
