Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Goal of the subject is to provide knowledge to the university student, so he/she will be able to understand given points at issue good enough to apply them in practical work. Student also obtains ability to partially analyse, categorize and classify major requirements of the raw-materials and theirs utilization for geological works.

Vysvětlení základních pojmů (přírodní zdroj, nerostná surovina, ložisko), jejich klasifikace a faktory ovlivňující jejich význam. Význam nerostných surovin pro ekonomiku státu a světa. Hlavní faktory určující budoucí světový vývoj v těžbě a spotřebě nerostných surovin. Systematický popis nerostných surovin z hlediska jejich využití. I. Kovové nerostné suroviny (rudy): kovy skupiny železa - Fe, Mn, Cr, Ti; neželezné kovy - Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Al, Mg; vzácné kovy - W, Sn, Hg, As, Mo, V, Sb, Bi, Li, Be; drahé kovy - Au, Ag, platinoidy; stopové prvky - In, Ga, Ge, Se, Te apod.; Ii. Nekovové nerostné suroviny (nerudy): stavební suroviny - žuly, granodiority, diority, vápence, mramory, travertiny, pískovce apod.; suroviny chemického a potravinářského průmyslu a zemědělství - apatity, fosfority, draselné soli, kamenná sůl, saturační vápence apod.; průmyslové nekovové suroviny; keramické, žáruvzdorné a kyselinovzdorné suroviny; sklářské suroviny; slévárenské suroviny; plnidla; bělící a filtrační suroviny; izolační hmoty; suroviny průmyslu barev; abraziva a suroviny pro výrobu umělých abraziv; drahokamy a polodrahokamy; suroviny pro speciální účely (optické, piezo a pyroelektrické apod.); III. Palivoenergetické suroviny: kaustobiolity (skupina uhlí - rašelina, hnědé uhlí, černé uhlí, antracit, plyny uvoněné z uhlí; skupina přírodních uhlovodíků - ropa, zemní plyn, živičné břidlice, roponosné písky , asfalt, zemní vosk); radioaktivní suroviny - U, Th, Ra. IV. hydrominerální suroviny a plyny: minerální vody a plyny; naftové vody s Br, I, B apod.; solanky; hydrotermální vody; sladké vody pitné a vody pro technologické použití; mořská voda; inertní plyny - He, Ar, Ne, Kr apod.
