Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Goal of the subject is to provide knowledge to the university student, so he/she will be able to understand given points at issue good enough to apply them in practical work. Student also obtains ability to partially analyse, categorize and classify major requirements of the geology of mineral deposits.

Summary

Significance of the mineral raw materials for the state economy. Terms mineral deposit, raw mineral materials and factors which have influence on their significance. Mineralogical and petrographical composition of the mineral deposits. Classification of the mineral deposits and their morphology.Geological conditions of the origin of the mineral deposits. Origin of the magmatic deposits, pegmatites, carbonatites, contact metasomatic deposits, greisenic deposits, porphyry deposits, hydrothermal deposits, hydrogenic deposits, sublimates, hydrothermal- sedimentary deposits, weathering deposits. Sedimentary ( mechanical, chemical, biogenic) deposits and metamorphogenic deposits. Industrial types of the ore, industrial minerals, energy resources and hydrominerals and gases deposits. World resources of the main mineral raw materials and their main world producers. Summary of the mineral deposits of the Czech Republic. World mineral markets, mineral pricing and the factors which have influence on the mineral pricing. Predictions of the consumption and output of the main mineral raw materials in the Czech Republic.
