Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

To explain the current trends of (particularly environmental) data processing, to understand the differences between (in the general geo-) data and the data of the everyday life, to describe the tools of non-standard statistics.

Summary

The first topic is concerning about data organization in computer environment. The data by herself are described, regarding to data presentation, real-world data conversion, and computer data types. Next, the logical data organization is presented by two data structure models: hierarchical and relational. In this topic we can see: data structure storing and retrieving, virtual structures creating, sorting and indexing. In practical part of this subject, the software for inputting, editing and information generating is presented. The aim is geosciences data applications, and Internet information pages creation and utilization.
