Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the subject is to inform students with the knowledge of engineering geology and hydrogeology which to enable them to understand the substantive content of the subject to be able to apply it in practical activities of study discipline.

Summary

Basic HG terminology of water bearing rock environment. Hydrological characteristics of drainage area. Geohydrodynamic systems. Groundwater regime. Prospection and remediation of contaminated groundwater, prospection for surface and underground waste repositoriy constructions. EG characteristic of rocks and rock massives, genetic typological classification . Mechanism of geodynamic processes origin and development, prognosis and risk assessment. Methods and principles of EG prospection design. Principles of EG zoning, general principles of construction sites assessment.

Znalostí jsou v průběhu semestru kontrolovány pomocí semestrálních programů. Studium předmětu je zakončeno zkouškou, ke které lze přistoupit až po získání zápočtu. Zkouška má písemnou a ústní část.

Subject syllabus:

Lecture: (issues) Geological characteristics of the geological environment. General and specific classification of rocks and rock massifs. Geodynamic processes and risks arising from them. Methods of enginnering geological survey and methodology Engineering geological maps, thematic maps files EG documents for evaluation of foundation conditions for the surface, underground structures, dump, remediation and reclamation work. Hydrosphere and water in the rocks (the general patterns of accumulation and flow fluids in rocks, water balance equation). Properties and characteristics zvodněných systems (aquifer properties their identification, classification systems, hydraulic and HG conditions in the system). The quality of surface and shallow groundwater. Basics hydrogeochemical assessment of natural water, aggressive treatment for building construction. Groundwater regime (classification and description of major types, HG measurements and observations, data processing forms). HG exploration and drainage in underground mining and construction (systems and HG design work, types, stages and objectives of the survey, drainage construction pits, mines and quarries). The survey and remediation of groundwater pollution (pollution monitoring, bandwidth sanitary protection, conflicts of interest - legislation and standards). Hydrogeological investigation for construction of surface and underground dumps waste (liquid and solid industrial wastes, municipal wastes, in terms of legislation hydro). Hydrological Service of the CR - observation networks, monitor hydrological data CHMU. The basic legislation of the CR - water law and its applications in civil engineering. The obligations resulting from the balance of surface water and groundwater. Practice Classification of rocks based on descriptive properties and results of laboratory tests. Assessment of geological and geomorphological conditions in the defined area, the prognosis risk. Documentation drilling, processing and interpretation of the geological profile (lump size, RQD, etc.) Approximate evaluation of rocks according to the results of tests and functional classification (permeability, frost susceptibility , workability, etc.) Types of slope deformations, survey methodology and the remediation method, the search process literature EG maps - first assessment of foundation conditions for urban planning EG sections Drawing up and evaluation of foundation soils for the construction object Hydrochemical - water classification, image processing plant chemistry. Hydrological balance. Evaluation of chronological curves. Calculation and design of the depression curve. Drainage pits. Methods for evaluation of the measurement regime. Interference of wells in the groundwater reservoir with a free and tense wather level Hydrogeological maps and documentation. Zones of sanitary protection groundwater and surface water.
