Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Curriculum is structured into thematic areas in order to familiarize students the basics of hydrology with the main focus on modern methods in hydrology using GIS, with a positive emphasis on understanding the fundamental relationships and processes in the hydrosphere, the role hydrometry, collection, evaluation and interpretation of hydrological data and regime characteristics of the surface water and groundwater. The course provides the basic analysis and classification of hydrological extremes such as floods or droughts. At the same time as the risks discussed in the current global hydrosphere, or. specific problems in terms of Europe and the CR. Output knowledge, skills and competence: After completing the course the student should demonstrate knowledge of basic concepts, understanding of basic processes and phenomena in the hydrosphere, be able to explain phenomena and hydrological events that take place in it. The course also allows you to learn the ways of obtaining hydrometeorological data and information. After understanding the context of each student is able to use basic analytical tasks related to GIS in hydrology and water management.
