Teaching methods

Summary

The subject introduces to the application of selected mathematical disciplines in geosciences. It takes notice to specific aspects of geosciences data, and points to utilization of mathematical methods for estimation and trend prediction of geo-quantities. This subject takes the focus especially to the practical utilization in GIS-like software. In such applications, the good understanding of math fundamentals is the base of relevant result acquirement.

Subject syllabus:

Metody numerické matematiky používané pro modelování geovědních objektů. Metody matematické statistiky. Neparametrické statistiky v geovědách. Modelování geologických objektů – morfologie a vnitřních atributů. Metody zpracování dat – teoretické základy relačních databází. Metody geostatistické strukturální analýzy. Interpolační metody pro modelování vnitřních atributů geologických objektů. Metody statistické, geostatistické, metody na spojité a hladké plochy aj. Výběr vhodné interpolační metody. Grafická prezentace modelu.
