Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to make students familiar with the individual types of geothermal systems, i.e. from hydrothermal systems to hot dry rock systems. Then to be able to apply theoretical knowledge in proposing researches and searching for these geothermal sources. In the framework of exercise to master the selection of technologies for high-temperature areas and the sizing of equipment for geothermal boreholes. The student must be able to analyse and critically evaluate the acquired knowledge and to select then those items of knowledge that are essential.

Possibilities of geothermal energy utilization, types of geothermal systems and methods of theirs utilization, hydrothermal systems, geopressure systems, hot dry rock systems, magmatic systems, research a methodology of geothermal systems prospection, location of geothermal resources in the Czech Republic and abroad, geothermal energy and nature, geothermal boreholes, low potential energy and locality, economy of heat pumps.
