Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The subject is structured in the individual thematic issues and is designed to give students the thorough understanding of nature conservation and its modern methods. Main emphasis falls on system approach and mutual interactions of particular components of the landscape during the study of both common issues and individual protected areas. After completing the course students should have the knowledge of the elementary (essential) ideas and understanding of both the important processes involved and role of all the other factors in nature conservation together with the historical and legislative context. They should be also able to use the holistic approach to the study of nature conservation with all its connections and relationships. Student should have propose methods of study of natural and cultural monuments.
