The aim of the subject is to inform students with knowledge of Methods of Remediation of Natural Monuments, that will allow them to understand the content of the subject so that they are able to apply them in practical activities of the studied field.

Summary

International concept of protection of the geological environment. The causes and conditions of formation of land and underground natural shapes – typology. Survey methods for deciding about the method of protection and remediation. An overview of the remediation methods and examples.

Subject syllabus:

Conception of protection of geological environment, legislation. Geodynamic processes - causes, conditions genesis, resulting risks. Types of geological formations conditioned by endogenous, exogenous and anthropogenic processes. Summary of remediation measures - drainage systems, protective walls, piles, anchors, gabions, injection, dams, channel improvements and others. Surveying work for deciding how to remediation.
