Our intention is to provide a broad coverage of topics (see annotation of the course) in order to acquaint students with the basic principles of the subject taught and their practical applications.

Summary

The basic principles of geotechnical and groundwater monitoring, basic principles of monitoring system design, survey of methods and monitoring equipment for groundwater regime monitoring including water quality, stresses in rock massif and in lining, load of lining, deformation, load settlement, water pressures, water flow, seismic activity, radon. Monitoring network design objectives and operational aspects. Optimisation of monitoring networks. Methods of data processing including inverse analyses. Information systems.
