Dynamické multikomponentní přírodní systémy a přírodní systémy ovlivňované antropogenními vlivy. Hierarchické uspořádání entit (model holarchie a jeho základní pojmy). Biosféra jako komplexní globální systém. Principy systémovosti a historismu. Analýza prostorových a kauzálních aspektů. Pojetí noosféry. Studium globálních zákonitostí jako předpoklad realizace koncepce udržitelného rozvoje a základ řešení praktických problémů současnosti.
