Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of this subject is information application and regularity from geochemistry to the environment and technogennous mineral phases form the point of view of their other utilization and minimization of occurrence of pollution. The background for assessing of antropogenous contamination is the determination of geogenic background.

Summary

Předmět navazuje na základní informace získané během magisterského studia z oblasti geochemie. Látkové a energetické toky v systému: litosféra, hydrosféra, atmosféra, biosféra. Biogenní a antropogenní složky prostředí. Přírodní cykly dusíku, síry, uhlíku a jejich ovlivnění lidskou činností. Kritické zátěže pro acidifikaci, kritické zátěže rizikových prvků. Akumulace a deficit chemických prvků, vliv na zdraví lidské populace. Polétavý prach – fázová analýza, geochemie částic, environmentální a ekotoxikologická rizika. Geochemie krajiny, městských a průmyslových oblastí. Geochemie technogenních minerálních fází (kaly z ČOV, vedlejší energetické produkty, odpady z metalurgické činnosti apod.). Geochemie městských půd („urban soils“). Persistentní organické polutanty (POPs) a rizikové prvky – chování v prostředí – základní geochemické faktory. Hydrogeochemie. Vody ovlivněné hornickou činností. Radioaktivita. Moderní instrumentální metody a metody fázové analýzy.

Subject syllabus:

Environmental Geochemistry with specialization to energetic puroposes. Trace elements in fosil fuels and biomass – the diference in composition and behaviour. The main differences in composition on main elements and geochemical character of ash in fosil fuels and biomass. The behaviour of alcalic elements during combustion processes. Geochemistry of energetic products from combustion and other thermal technologies. Geochemical classification of ash, trace elements in fly ash and product of pyrolysis. The index of enrichment of trace elements. The mobility of trace elements during waste leaching in different pH conditions. The concentration of main elements in relationships to the melting point temperature of ash.
