Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The student should obtain the expansion of theoretical and practical knowledge in the issue of mathematical modeling in selected scientific disciplines. And especially in meteorology, climatology, hydrology, oceanography, soil science and soil erosion, solutes and sediment transport. Furthermore, the ecology of individuals, populations, communities and ecosystems. Theoretical aspects are applied in developing their own models and simulations of the analyzed geosysystems or other entities in the selected program means of mathematical modeling (DHI MIKE, USACE / HEC, Foiling, ECO Lab SWAT) and GIS (ArcGIS, GRASS, SAGA, IDRISI). The student would have to absorb the theoretical background and practical skills above the common objects of this type in the master's of science degree or technical direction. Emphasis is placed on mastering the principles of problem analysis and synthesis of knowledge, so that geosystems were understood in its complexity and environmental modeling and GIS as tools for the understanding of this complexity.
