Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The objective of the course is to provide students with basic professional economic knowledge in a specific field of mineral economics. The student will get knowledge of the basic principles of both raw materials and energy security policy. After completing the course, the student will be able to understand the general process of acquiring mineral deposits and obtain knowledge of the basic principles of investment analysis in the field of exploration, mining and processing of minerals. They will understand the key principles of economic management of companies carrying out mining activities or activities carried out in a mining manner in the Czech Republic.

Summary
Economic context of basic mining activities (geological survey, deposit acquisition and processing of exploited raw material) and their impact on the economics of mining. External influences (development of prices on raw material markets, legislative changes and changes in technologies, etc.) and mining. Economic evaluation of extractable reserves of mineral deposits, analysis of investments in exploration and extraction of mineral deposits from the point of view of their economic evaluation.
The subject also explain other issues of mineral economics, such as the position of the state in the field of minerals, issues of the legislative base, but also problems of price developments, the role of organizations involved in exploration and extraction of minerals, raw materials and energy policy, international organizations and raw materials policy.
