Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Goal of the subject is to provide knowledge to the university student, so he/she will be able to understand given points at issue good enough to analyse its content, to realise synthesis of the acquired information and its evaluation. This sciential base allow student to compare results of the synthesis, propose modifications and solve the problems of the nonmetalliferous deposits

Summary

The definition of the term “nonmetalliferous deposits”. The genetic classification of nonmetalliferous deposits. The chemical-technological classification of nonmetalliferous deposits utilised for the foodstuffs sector, agriculture and the production of abrasives, insulating materials and ceramic materials. Glass, refractory and acid-resistant raw materials. Raw materials used in inorganic chemical industry, foundry and for the production of bleaching and filtering materials. Filling agents for plastics, natural dyes and ochers. Raw materials suitable for utilising in optical industry and as semiprecious stones and gem stones. A brief overview of the world mineral raw material base of industrial minerals. Nonmetalliferous raw materials of the Czech Republic.
