Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Goal of the subject is to provide knowledge to the university student, so he/she will be able to understand given points at issue good enough to analyse its content, to realise synthesis of the acquired information and its evaluation. This sciential base allow student to compare results of the synthesis, propose modifications and solve the problems of the geology of the ore deposits.

Summary

The definition of the terms “ore” and “metalliferous deposit”. The chemical- technological classification of metalliferous deposits. The genetic classification of metalliferous deposits. The time and space regularities of metalliferous deposits in the Earth shell. Metallogenetic epochs, the metalogenetic zoning of the world and Europe. The metallogenetic division of the Czech Republic. Deposits of metals of the Fe group, non-ferrous metals, precious metals, trace elements, noble earths, noble metals and radioactive raw materials. Major useful minerals, desirable and harmful admixtures, utilisation, reserves and major world producers of each raw material. The prognosis of future applications of raw materials and their price trends. Present deposits and historically valuable deposits in the territory of the Czech Republic.
