Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
One of the major objectives of historical geology is to describe the history of the Earth from its inception to the present. Knowledge and explanation how to recognise geological time and the use of stratigraphy, and paleontology to tell the sequence of these events.

Summary
Selected chapters dealing with new knowledge from the field of
biostratigraphy,
paleoecology, paleoclimatology and paleogeography. New trends in
lithostratigraphy. Foundations of sequential stratigraphy. New knowledge in
international stratigraphic units, in the classification of formations and
geochronological dating. Regional geology of the Bohemina Massif, the Outer
Western Carpathians and the all Carpathian system in the light of knowledge
from the las decade. Regional geology of selected units.

Selected chapters devoted to new knowledge in the field of biostratigraphy,
paleoecology, and paleogeography. New trends in lithostratigraphy.
Principles of sequence stratigraphy.
International news in stratigraphic units, divisions and geochronological dating.
Regional geology of Bohemian Massif, Outer Western Carpathians and the whole Carpathian system in light of the findings of the previous decade.
