Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Absolvent will know the main aspects of fluid mechanics in petroleum engineering. Absolvent will be able to analyse real problems and apply engineering aproaches to their understanding and solving.

Summary

Subject will introduce various fluids encountered in petroleum engineering. Intrinsic parts of the subject are formation fluids, drilling fluids, cements, completion fluids and production fluids.

Mandatory attendence participation: Attendance of 70% of seminars during the semester and completion of 100% of required tasks.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: Student will gain seminar credit by completing given tasks according to specifications given by the lecturer. The assignment has to be completed before the start of the exam period. Attendance on seminars isn't compulsory. Student will be preparing for the exam individually by studying materials given by the lecturer. The exam has to be attended in person on a regular exam term given by the lecturer.
