Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students will be introduced to reservoir simulation. They will be able to propose a model and conduct a simulation, based on available data on specific problems.

Summary

Students will be introduced to the production process and its physical backround. They will be enabled to describe the process mathematically and apply it on a range geological backrounds. We will broaden the knowledge of numerical methods for simulation of petroleum engineering problems.

Mandatory attendence participation: Attendance of 70% of seminars during the semester and completion of 100% of required tasks.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: Student will gain seminar credit by completing given tasks according to specifications given by the lecturer. The assignment has to be completed before the start of the exam period. Attendance on seminars isn't compulsory. Student will be preparing for the exam individually by studying materials given by the lecturer. The exam has to be attended in person on a regular exam term given by the lecturer.
