Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The key objective of the course is to acquaint students with unconventional sources of oil and gas. Provide them with a sufficient overview of the methods of exploration, extraction, transport, distribution and use of these non-traditional energy sources. The course includes a geological part, a technical part and an introduction to the economic part. Basic managerial procedures in the management of exploration and mining projects are presented, the main environmental and safety risks art introduced. The graduate will demonstrate technical and economic knowledge in the field of realisation of projects of exploration and exploitation of non-traditional sources of hydrocarbons. The graduate is able to solve design, operational, safety, environmental and basic economic tasks that occur in the above projects.
