Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to provide students with information on the basic processes of collection, treatment and transport of gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons taking place between the oil and gas extraction and the production of final products from these hydrocarbons. Graduates will demonstrate general knowledge of design, construction and operation of dedicated gas and pressure equipment for transportation and distribution of oil and gas. The aim is to equip the graduates with such skills that will enable them to participate in the operation, maintenance and repair of oil, gas and gas extraction, transport and distribution systems in the future. The course also deals with operational and environmental risk management.

Teaching methods

Individual consultations

Transport of hydrocarbons. Design of pipeline systems. Production and construction of pipelines. Technical equipment of piping systems. Corrosion and pipeline protection. Pipeline check and inspection, repair and maintenance. Risks of oil and gas pipeline operation. Specified gas and pressure equipment. Safety and health protection in potentially explosive atmosphere.
