Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with another non-traditional, but recently rapidly developing form of tourism, which is agrotourism. It is a form of tourism, the main target group of which are people moving most of their time in an urban agglomeration. The aim of this course is to show what agrotourism is, how it develops and what are the possibilities of its use both in the Czech Republic and in the world. It is an interesting form of tourism that combines traditional and new modern methods in agriculture with tourism.

Summary

Agrotourism is another subject focused on specialized tourism. It is a relatively new form of tourism, the aim of which is to introduce people living in cities to a rural way of life in a relaxing, interactive and often entertaining way. The aim of agrotourism is to show how both traditional and modern organic farming can be combined with tourism. Listeners of this subject will be acquainted with various business opportunities in agritourism and with various ways in which tourism can be connected with agriculture. In this subject, they will get acquainted with both traditional and current methods of plant and animal production and with development trends in agriculture or how today's agriculture is developing and modernizing. Last but not least, the problems that today's agriculture has to deal with and cope with will be pointed out.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Knowledge are checked during the semester by a semester project and presentations in MS PowerPoint. The course is completed by an examination, which may be scheduled having gained the initial credit. The examination is divided into a written and oral part.

Accommodation services in agrotourism 5. Catering services in agrotourism 6. Business opportunities in rural tourism 7. Different ways of connecting tourism and agriculture 8. Traditional methods of crop production in agriculture 9. Traditional methods of animal production in agriculture 10. Application of new technologies and modern methods of crop production in agriculture 11. Application of new technologies and modern methods of animal production in agriculture 12. Current problems in agriculture (ecological, economic) 13. Possibilities of future development of agrotourism
