Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Students will be acquainted with the principle of origin and mission of geoparks as a tool of modern type of tourism. Knowledge to help students understanding and management of Geoparks to a separate application in tourism.

Summary
Geopark is a designation for a geologically valuable area, where activities in support of the development of the area and support of attendance and education are developed in cooperation with local inhabitants and organizations (state, non-profit and private). It is not only a purely geoscience projects, but they often play a dominant role. Besides geological objects and phenomena are important points of interest such as cultural and ecological phenomena, archaeological and historical monuments. In the course students will be acquainted with this important cognitive platform, which will then be used in tourism practice. Part of this course will gain knowledge of the methodology, objectives, purposes, establishment and operation of geoparks. The graduates will be acquainted with selected geoparks in the Czech Republic but also in the world (under the auspices of UNESCO) so that they can apply the acquired knowledge in tourist practice.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
Knowledge are checked during the semester by a semester project and presentations in MS PowerPoint. The course is completed by an examination, which may be scheduled having gained the initial credit. The examination is divided into a written and oral part.
