Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Regional geology of the world is an important part of geological knowledge for guides in world geotourism. Students will gain the basics of analytical skills and better orientation in the field of geological structure of the visited areas. The subject is based on the knowledge of plate tectonics, which is followed by the regional division of the continent and the ocean.

Summary
The subject acquaints students with basic orientation knowledge of regional geology of the world. The aim is to teach students the orientational schematic geological structure of the continent, but also the oceanic crust. An important aspect of teaching is the emphasis on presentation for clients of tourists so that they can explain to people the geological structure of individual areas simply and clearly. At the same time, emphasis is placed on students understanding the basic geological structure of the studied continents with regard to the genesis, development and indicative petrographic composition of geological units.
