Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim is to introduce and deepen the knowledge of students with problems of the environment. Student will gain the general information about the environmental protection problems and particularly about the processes of human activity leading to its pollution. Student will know to formulate the basic problems connected with environmental protection. Student is familiar with current legislation. Student will know on the examples of theoretical and practical pieces of knowledge the demonstrate the possible process procedures leading to negative influence minimization.

Summary

The course deals with the description of the environment and its parts, the influence of mining and others technology proceses on the individual components of the environment. Analysis of the various operation leads to define which factors are more that are less essential and how they can be reduced. Furthermore, the subject deals with the remediation and reclamation affected areas.

1st Basic concepts, environmental legislation 2nd Atmosphere, air protection 3rd Protection of pedosphere, lithosphere 4th Water protection 5th Biosphere and influence of ekosystems 6th Work environment and hygiene, and protection against adverse effects on health 7th Mining and treatment of mineral and envirnment 8th Transport and impact on the environment 9th Waste, storage, disposal, storing, recycling 10th Fossil fuels, new energy sources, secondary energy sources 11th The issue of nuclear energy 12th Impacts on environment caused by liquidation of factories 13th Reclamation of land devastated area
