Learning outcomes of the course unit is to acquaint students with the basic function principles of commonly used process equipment.

Summary

The subject acquaints students with equipment used in different process facilities like a conveyors as well as handling equipment in relation to process equipment in the mineral processing and waste treatment field. Students will learn the basics of their construction and technological calculations. The course also includes theme of particulates with their relation to these devices.

Subject syllabus:

1. Introduction to the subject, content, requirements for the student, Basic concepts of process equipment 2. Standards, technical drawings, types of drawings, Requirements for process equipment level 3. Particular materials division. Mechanical properties of particulate matter, measurement of basic parameters. 4. Process equipment division. Traffic performance calculation. Transport of material during processes 5. Towing system, Infinite towing device, Belt conveyor, Principle, Division and main part. Technological accessories of conveyor belt. Basics of belt conveyor theory and calculation. 6. Belt conveyor operating equipment. Special belt conveyors - with pressure belt, with baffles, hose. 7. Device on the principle of bucket - principle, construction, main part, calculation. Means of transport - principle, construction, basics of chain conveyor calculation. 8. Ridge conveyor system - principle, construction, basics of chain conveyor calculation. Redler - principle of construction, basics of chain conveyor calculation. 9. Vibration-based equipment - scheme, principles of vibration excitation, basic parameters calculation. Equipment on the principle of worm mechanism - construction, division, simplified calculation of parameters 10. Own weight transport - chutes, gutters.
