Summary

The goal of the subject is to make students acquainted with the present trends in the mineral policies of the Czech Republic and the world as regards the surface mining. Attention is paid to the methods of the development and exploitation of coal and ore deposits, deposits of construction raw aterials, machinery and technologies used in the processes of mining, transport and backfilling, underwater mining, block mining of raw materials, surface mine drainage, accompanying processes, and last but not least, to removing the impacts of surface mining upon the landscape environment.
