Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The student demonstrates the knowledge of legislative regulations in the field of waste management of the Czech Republic with a special focus on wastes from mining and utilization of mineral resources and basic properties of selected types of waste including technologies for their possible use or disposal. The student is able to evaluate the technological properties of selected types of waste and to propose a scheme for recycling or other utilization of selected types of waste.

Summary

The course introduces students to the legislation of waste interpretation of public administration in the field of waste management and the issue of the disposal of industrial waste generated in the mining industry and related industries, including their assessment from an environmental perspective. Particular emphasis is placed on waste recycling methods aimed at converting waste into secondary raw material. The methods used are illustrated on selected types of industrial waste, including waste water. Acquired knowledge is verified by solving computational problems and laboratory experiments
