Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The student will learn how to classify the basic types of organizational structures in the subject Basics of Mining and how to identify their strengths and weaknesses. The aim is to define and reproduce facts, to interpret acquired pieces of information in new situations and to compare them. Subsequently, the students will learn how to analyse information, connect pieces of information, order information according to importance and use it in experiments and synthesis with a view to definite recommendations.

Summary

The goal of the subject is to make students acquainted with the role of the base of mineral raw materials in the Czech Republic and altogether in the world, methods of exploitation of particular kinds of mineral raw materials for the purposes of their utilisation. Furthermore, the subject is to provide the basis of particular systems of underground and surface mining of deposits of mineral raw materials in the processes of mining, disintegration, transport and backfilling of worked out spaces and also in accompanying and auxiliary processes ensuring deposit exploitation itself.

Subject syllabus:

Osnova přednášek: 1. Základní hornické pojmy, principy ekonomiky a legislativy v oblasti surovin. 2. Vyhledávání a průzkum ložisek, vlastnosti hornin a napěťové stavy v masivu. 3. Úkoly měřické služby na závodech pro těžbu surovin, měřická dokumentace. 4. Soubor činností, spojených s hlubinným dobýváním ložisek. 5. Otvírka a příprava ložisek různých typů k dobývání. 6. Základní principy používaných dobývacích metod a mechanizace porubů. 7. Způsoby ukončení těžby v dolech, jejich konzervace a likvidace. 8. Lomové dobývání užitkových surovin – otvírkové a těžební práce. 9. Mechanizační prostředky pro uhelné lomy, kamenolomy, štěrkovny a pískovny. 10. Odvodňování předpolí lomů a lomových provozů. 11. Geotechnologické metody dobývání tuhých ložisek. 12. Bezpečnost hornických provozů a ochrana zdraví při práci. 13. Ochrana životního prostředí při hornické činnosti. 14. Zahlazení následků hornické činnosti, sanace a rekultivace terénů.
