Summary
The subject deals with the main and auxiliary mine ventilation, including the
ventilation of dead end mine workings and the optimization of mine ventilation.
The basic principles of aerodynamics are explained as a basis for understanding
the process of underground air flow and ability to perform the relevant
calculations and solving the mine ventilation networks. Natural and thermal air
flows, fluctuations of quarry air characteristics, basics of meteorology and
force ventilation of opencast mine ventilation are discussed as well.
