Tento oborový předmět se blíže zabývá mechanikou partikulárních hmot, měřením mechanicko-fyzikálních a geometrických vlastností kolektivů nano a mikročástic. Tyto informace obecného charakteru jsou zobrazovány na mechanické procesy partikulárních hmot – výroba částic, doprava, skladování a technologické procesy s mikro a nano částicemi.
