Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the subject is learning of students to recognize important factors influencing the stability of rock and soil slopes, and using methods for its estimation and controling.

Summary

The students will gain the knowledge of the most important factors influencing the stability of rock and soil slopes. The methods of calculation methods of stability control are discussed, as well as the monitoring and procedures, that can be used for regaining the stability of disturbed rock bodies.

1. Introduction to the subject - main terminology 2. clasification of slope movements 3. IG surveys of landslides 4. Factor of stability (safety) and factors which influence stability of slopes. 5. Methods for assesment of stability factor - soils - analytical methods 6. Methods for assesment of stability factor - soils - grafoanalytic methods 7. Methods for assesment of stability factor - rock slopes 8. Geotechnical monitoring 9. Stabilization of slopes. 10. Methods of mathematical modeling - softwares 11.
