Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The student will learn how to classify the basic types of organizational structures in the subject Deposit Mining II and how to identify their strengths and weaknesses. The aim is to define and reproduce facts, to interpret acquired pieces of information in new situations and to compare them. Subsequently, the students will learn how to analyse information, connect pieces of information, order information according to importance and use it in experiments and synthesis with a view to definite recommendations.

Summary

The students will gain the knowledge of the contemporary trends in raw materials policy in open cast mining. The means of opening, preparation and excavation of the deposits of coal, non-metalliferous, and building raw materials are discussed, including the processes of mining, transport and stocking and dumping of materials, packing of free spaces, mining from water and block mining are discussed, as well as the means of quarry drainage and reclamation of land and waters.

Subject syllabus:

Syllabus of lectures: 1. Factors influencing the choice of mining methods. 2. Technology cyclically operating mining excavators. 3. Technology bucket mining excavators. 4. Technology wheel mining excavators. 5. Transverse and longitudinal movement of the overlying material. 6. Basic rules for stockpiling and waste heaps. 7. Technology grinding and extraction of coherent rocks . 8. Technology conquest loose rocks 9. Gross and noble stone-cutting production. 10. Basic characteristics of mining methods walls 11. Methods of mining coal seams in the powerful benches. 12. Modern equipment wall faces. 13. Mining of coal deposits in difficult mining and geological conditions. 14. Mining of ore deposits, non-ore and uranium. 15. Nontraditional methods of underground mining deposits.
