Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of this course is to familiarize students to the design process of opening, preparation and extraction of surface mines in view of the rational implementation of those activities. The course includes design principles of conflicts of interests in mining activities and activities using mining techniques.

Posluchač si prohlubuje poznatky o základních kritériích pro projektování
lomové činnosti v jednotlivých procesech a etapách rozpoje lomů. Způsoby
otvírky lomu či rozšíření dobývacího prostoru, problematika likvidace lomových
provozů se širokou návazností na střety zájmů.

Other requirements
Deepening the knowledge of basic criteria for designing quarry activities in the different processes and stages of expansion. Methods of the quarry opening or expanding the mining area, the issue of liquidation of the quarry plant with a wide linkup on the conflicts of interest.

Subject syllabus:
1) Introduction to the mining of quarry. Mining division according to various aspects.
2) Mineral resources, characteristics of deposits, geological, hydrological and stratigraphic conditions affecting extraction of mineral deposits.
3) The names and technical terms from quarry mining, exploration area determination, protected deposit area and mining area. Terms of use of non-reserved minerals.
4) Overburden work, dump and heap management - mechanization, types, foundation, and stability including proposals practice time before longwall sections.
5) Methods of disintegration - blasting, excavators. Analysis of specific situations during the blasting operations.
6) Fracture of coal mining and ore deposits, specifications and requirements of technological processes of technological progress.
7) Ways and technological description of transport on mines. Analyses of specific situations of individual modes.
8) Basic finishing processes. Analysis and design of stable resp. mobile treatment lines.
9) Mining in difficult conditions. Analysis of mining conditions in the presence of strong and very strong positions in the presence of underground works in surface mining, water-bearing horizons, unstable cuts, etc.
10) Dewatering of the quarry. Suggestions and ways of reloading waterways, building dikes and drainage ditches. Hydromonitoring. Privacy medicinal water resources from the effects of mining.
11) Ancillary and supplementary work depending on other technological processes.
12) Health and safety at work and safety in the quarrying of minerals, including proposals to address unavoidable risks.
13) Rehabilitation of fracture activity - remediation and reclamation. Proposals including the calculation of financial reserves.
14) The management of extractive waste at DOE and quarrying. Conditions for the establishment and operation of storage sites.
