Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the subject called - Process Equipment, Selected Applications - is to introduce the student to the system of broader contexts in the mechanical processes field, which are not focused on one branch of industry, but have an interdisciplinary character. Student will be acquainted with the application of mechanical processes in the mineral raw materials mining, through applications from the food industry, environmental areas, agriculture, to energy. The student will gain the ability to transfer knowledge between disciplines based on knowledge of mechanical-physical and geometric properties of particulate matter as a workpiece, i.e. a subject that permanently changes its properties. The teaching has an interdisciplinary character in which modern methods are used and on the basis of this an innovative approach of the student is expected. The graduate is able to assess the suitability of individual applications of mechanical processes in connection with the field of application and with the properties of input and output materials. The student has the skills to the design and selection of technologies or possibly the activities needed to manage the operation and optimize production processes. He has knowledge of the particulate matter mechanics, enabling innovative inputs in many fields.

Summary

There is no doubt that the realization of processes and the construction of equipment are the foundations on which the development of humanity is based. They are currently the backbone of many European economies and a source of stable income. Descriptions of process equipment and processes face overall digitization, which will give this field a new development and innovation impetus. According to estimates, in a fully developed company, up to 40% of industrial activities are engaged in the construction of process equipment and the process stabilization. We have met them since ancient times. Process innovations conditioned the development and success of ancient civilizations. It is no different today. Based on how we manage the research of processes and their rapid implementation in practice within the level of new knowledge and discoveries, our company becomes more competitive.
