Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course is to teach students theoretical training for designing a plan for remediation and reclamation of land affected by mining. Within the course, the student will first be acquainted with the applicable legislation related to the topic, then theoretically discuss the various types of remediation and reclamation, including work carried out in the various stages of reclamation. The student will learn to create a plan of remediation and reclamation according to applicable legislation, including the creation of a work schedule, setting the price of reclamation work and a proposal for the creation of a financial reserve. The graduate of the course should be able to design suitable types of reclamation and identify their strengths and weaknesses.

Summary
The content of the course is to acquaint students with the consequences of mining activities on the affected areas in underground and opencast mining and the possibilities of remediation and reclamation of these areas. Within the course, the student will be acquainted with the current legislation related to the topic, then theoretically discuss the various types of remediation and reclamation, including work carried out in the various stages of reclamation work. In the practical part of the course, real plans for remediation and reclamation will be consulted first, then students will prepare a plan for remediation and reclamation for a model site using theoretical experience and current price lists of guide prices for construction and reclamation work.
