Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Analysis of knowledge base in the area of raw materials properties and technologies evaluation. Interpretation of acquired informations and their synthesis for mineral processing technology assesment. Application of statistical methods in area of raw materials and wastes treatment.

Summary

The course provides an overview of methods for evaluating raw materials and technological processes of their treatment. Increased attention is paid to the issue of statistical planning and evaluation of experimental work.

Definition of qualitative-quantitative characteristics in the processing of minerals Principles and methodology of raw material sampling, definition of experimental error Basic technological parameters of distribution processes Calculation of separation efficiency Methodology of evaluation of technological processes using statistical procedures Statistical procedures for planning and evaluating experiments Statistical significance tests Regression and correlation analysis in the evaluation of technological processes Analysis of variance and its application in the planning and evaluation of the experiment Forecasting of separation results
